My kid is ready to go Pro, can we go faster?
We can try to adjust to your players skill by challenging them more, but rec basketball is a blend of players who have never touched a ball and the next Caitlin Clark and no one gets left behind.
I want to help coach when I’m there, but can’t commit for [reasons].
Anyone directly interacting with the players must be cleared by the parish. Even if you think you might be able to help once in a while, let us know so we can ensure you are “cleared”.
Can I play if I’m not Catholic or a member of SJN Parish?
YES! Perspective Catholics or parishioners are all welcome to play, but cannot contradict the truths of our faith.
Information:
Here is the link to this year's waiver at 2025-2026 CYBL Online Waiver/Release
Team registrations for the CYBL will open on October 13th and close on November 4th.
Team fees remain the same at $400 per team.
When registering a team, a full roster and coach's signature confirming that everyone has signed the CYBL waiver and read the provided league handbook are required.
The CYBL directors meeting will be held at the First Pres Family Life Center (gym) on October 23rd at 5:30pm.
The plan is to start 2nd-3rd grade and 6th-12th grade on the week of November 17th and 4th-5th grade on December 6th. This is a change with our 2nd and 3rd grade division.
Please be aware they will most likely get scheduled either Friday or Saturday of that week. This will help us with gym space after Christmas. We are losing a key gym for the month of January and February.
Later in September we will send our Handbook and instructions for team registrations. The handbook will have a few changes to our rules of play, which will be highlighted during the directors meeting on October 23.
Ask questions to admin@SJNSports.com and we’ll try to answer directly and repost here if it benefits the group as a whole!

Chairs left out, Trash / Spills on the floor, damaged equipment
pro tip: flip over all trash cans except for 1 to avoid replacing multiple bags
Practice drills are NOT position specific
At this age the kids should learn all the skills.

Until each player can pass, shoot, dribble, catch, and do lay-ups at the MVP level listed in the links below
This for safety.
